HAUBSTADT—Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of County Road 1025 South and U. S. 41 Thursday afternoon.
Gibson County Sheriff’s Captain Bryan Ellis said a silver passenger car was southbound on U. S. 41 when the driver of a pickup truck tried to turn from the median of the highway, west on CR 1025 South. The collision happened just after 3 p. m.
The car hit the truck on the passenger side, flipping both vehicles into the southwest corner of the intersection.
Ellis said the woman driving the car was transported to the hospital with lower body injuries, while the man driving the truck complained of head pain.
A dog was also pulled from the car, but did not appear to be injured and was returned to its family.
The extent of the injuries weren’t immediately known, but Ellis said they aren’t believed to be life threatening.
Traffic in the southbound lanes was slowed, and the right lane closed, while emergency responders tended to the injuries.
No other information was available as of press time.
Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, Haubstadt police and firefighters, medics and Indiana State Police responded to the crash.
