Francisco firefighters work on cutting a ventilation hole in the roof of a home at 2980 South, County Road 650 East that caught fire just after 6:30 p.m. According to Francisco Fire Department Chief Mike Sullivan the fire started in the kitchen after a deep fryer accident. "The kitchen was fully engulfed when I got here," Sullivan, one of the first on scene, said. No one was injured but the home had major fire damage in the kitchen and smoke and water damage throughout. Oakland City, Columbia Township, Haubstadt and Princeton fire departments responded to assist with the blaze.
